As the coronavirus situation continues to drag on, governors, mayors and other political figures have continued to expand regulations designed to curb the spread of the virus.
But are these measures helping as much as these officials say they are, considering that little improvement has been shown and most people have been left in the dark as to how to boost their immune system to protect themselves from viral infections naturally?
These are the questions that millions of people have been pondering in recent weeks, including overseas where protests have erupted over the government’s “destruction of businesses,” like the one that happened in London this past Saturday where thousands marched against virus-related restrictions.
Meanwhile here in the United States, the restrictions continue to pile up, perhaps none more restrictive than in California, where some say a “war on Thanksgiving” (not to mention Christmas, potentially) has been declared by Governor Gavin Newsom (D-San Francisco), who officially released a list of “do’s and don’ts” for Californians looking to celebrate the upcoming holiday season.
The list includes a wide range of restrictions designed to stop the spread of the coronavirus, which has a survivability rate of over 99% for those from ages 0 to 70, but continues to bring the economy, and our personal lives and traditions, to a grinding halt.
California Thanksgiving Includes “Two Hour Time Limit on Gatherings,” Restrictions on Holiday Cheer and More
Earlier this month, Governor Newsom sent out an official “Guidance for Public Gatherings” Notification” addressed to “All Californians” on the matter of the coronavirus, which included a laundry list of regulations, many of them extremely restrictive and obtrusive in nature.
Among the new regulations are:
-A Ban on Gatherings of More Than Three Households
According to the letter, gatherings of more than three households will be prohibited for the time being.
“This includes everyone present, including hosts and guests,” Newsom’s letter reads. “Remember, the smaller the number of people, the safer.”
Newsom also encourages people in California to limit their social circle, even as Thanksgiving and Christmas draw closer.
In other words, choose your favorite relatives carefully and make sure not to invite everyone to your join in on your most cherished family traditions.
“Keep the households that you interact with stable over time. By spending time with the same people, risk of transmission is reduced. Participating in multiple gatherings with different households or groups is strongly discouraged.”
Newsom also states that those who do host parties should “collect names of all attendees and contact information,” he says in the letter, for tracking purposes.
-Face Coverings Should Only Be Removed “Briefly” to Eat or Drink
According to Newsom, people at gatherings “may remove their face coverings ‘briefly’ to eat or drink,” he adds in the letter.
“As long as they stay at least 6 feet away from everyone outside their own household, and put their face covering back on as soon as they are done with the activity.”
-All Gatherings Should Be Held Outdoors
“Gatherings that occur outdoors are significantly safer than indoor gatherings,” Newsom says in the letter. “All gatherings must be held outside.
“Additionally, multiple gatherings of three households cannot be jointly organized or coordinated to occur in the same public park or other outdoor space at the same time – this would constitute a gathering exceeding the permitted size.”
-Holiday Cheer Is Greatly Discouraged
According to Newsom, virtually all displays of holiday cheer, ie “singing, chanting and shouting,” are “strongly discouraged” according to the edict.
“All people who are singing or chanting should wear a face covering at all times while singing or chanting, including anyone who is leading a song or chant,” Newsom says in the letter, which can be read in full here.
“People who are singing or chanting are strongly encouraged to do so quietly (at or below the volume of a normal speaking voice).”
According to host Del Bigtree, the former of The Doctors and Dr. Phil who now speaks on controversial health related topics on his online show The Highwire with Del Bigtree, Newsom is taking things way too far with what he calls “draconian” regulations.
“California is completely out of control now that Thanksgiving is coming up…They are apparently going to shut down Thanksgiving,” Bigtree said on his show recently.
“California just declared war on Thanksgiving with Kafka-level regulations.”
