Holistic Doctor Challenges Harvard School of Public Health on the #1 Component of Chronic Disease: “These are Poisons, Plain and Simple”

In the world of nutrition and medicine, the advice of the modern day establishment in America has created a climate where 6 in 10 people have a chronic disease of some kind, and 4 in 10 have at least two chronic diseases according to the CDC.

As of 2009, 7 of 10 deaths in the United States were attributed to these types of chronic diseases, which include heart disease, diabetes and more, according to the National Health Council.

While it’s clear as day that processed food is a major driver of these issues, there is one particular component of the health picture that is being completely ignored, and even pushed as “healthy” by many of the country’s most trusted health organizations, according to holistic doctor Chris Knobbe.

Knobbe, who recently spoke at the Low Carb 2020 event in Denver, took on these medical organizations in his speech, in spite of the potential repercussions.

“How dare I have the audacity to question the Harvard School of Public Health?” Knobbe asks the crowd in his speech, which can be seen in the video player below.

“And the nutrition department of Tufts University? And the nutrition department of Mayo Clinic? And the American Heart Association?”

“Yet that is exactly what I will do today and this is exactly the hypothesis that I will present and defend today because I believe in it.”

 

Doctor Describes the “#1 Component in Processed Food” Driving Disease

While whole foods are almost always healthier than processed foods, especially when they are organic and nutrient-dense, there is one particular component of processed foods that Dr. Knobbe believes is driving chronic disease more than any other in this country: processed seed oils.

In the United States, these seed oils, which include cottonseed, canola, and more, are overwhelmingly genetically modified in a laboratory, and are often stored in plastic bottles in large warehouses, where they are prone to rancidity, especially when exposed to sunlight on a consistent basis.

These are just a few of the reasons why Dr. Knobbe recommends avoiding these foods whenever possible.

“We’re consuming these highly pro-oxidative, pro-inflammatory, toxic seed oils in massive doses and consumption has spread all across the world, and the entire world is becoming overweight, obese and sick…And it’s not their fault,” he said about these oils and the chaos they are causing worldwide.

Among the four main processed food components, which could also potentially include sugar, trans fats, and wheat flour, Dr. Knobbe believes these seed oils are likely to be the most damaging.

“The seed oil is the primary driver because they are the primary poisons…They are poisons, plain and simple.”

 

How Seed Oils Took Over the American Landscape, and How to Change It

Knobbe is a student of the Weston A. Price nutritional philosophy, which leans heavily on an “ancestral” diet of Paleo type foods including lots of vegetables and pastured meats. Grass fed butter, lard and coconut products high in saturated fat are greatly preferred to vegetable oils.

Wheat and seed oils are two foods that are avoided on this type of diet, and Dr. Knobbe, who is also president of the Cure AMD (age-related macular degeneration) Association, believes there is strong reasoning behind that.

nutrition weston a. price canola oilAccording to Dr. Knobbe in the video below, the use of seed oils such as canola and cottonseed has risen dramatically in recent years.

“Heart disease was extraordinarily rare at the turn of the century,” Dr. Knobbe notes, plotting a timeline of the introduction of the four main components of processed food into American diets on a chart.

“Now, 63-74% of the American diet is made up of processed food, and 32% is seed oils.”

Along these same lines, seven of the top ten causes of diseases were all chronic in nature as of 2010 as opposed to bacterial.

While Harvard, the Mayo Clinic, and other medical institutions continue to push the “heart healthy” alleged benefits of these seed oils, the numbers show otherwise, according to Knobbe.

“They know this is the problem to diseases of civilization,” he said.

In the video, he presents a compelling case as to why these seed oils should be avoided as much as humanly possible, why certain cultures who eat supposedly unhealthy oils instead are much healthier and generally heart-disease free, and much more.
