Chocolate Maca Power Balls Recipe
1 Cup Dates
1 Cup Almonds or Walnuts
1/3-1/2 Cup Raw Cacao Powder
2-3 tbsp Maca Powder
1/3 Cup Coconut Butter or Coconut Oil
½ Cup Shredded Coconut
Teaspoon Vanilla Extract
Pinch of Salt
Preparation: Soak the dates for 10 minutes in filtered water and then drain them fully. Add the mixture into a blender, excepting the shredded coconut. Then, sprinkle the shredded coconut on a plate and pour the mixture over top of it.
Let sit for 10 minutes (optional) and then mold into ball shapes before covering with the shredded coconut and enjoying. You may use a melon baller to make more perfect ball shapes.
Other Recipe Options: Feel free to add your own superfoods for a new twist to make this recipe your own. Goji berries are always an excellent option to pair with raw cacao-based desserts. A pinch of turmeric powder or even cayenne is also excellent if you’re into spices, and giving your dessert an extra spicy kick.
These are great for energy and make an excellent snack on the go. Take them with you on your next hike or other adventure!
