Cardiologist, Doctor Shares His Top Supplements For Blood Pressure Over 130/90 Levels

Dr. Stephen Sinatra shares his recommendations for elevated blood pressure supplements.

Dr. Stephen Sinatra has spent over 40 years working as a highly respected cardiologist with what he terms is an ‘integrative approach’ to treating cardiovascular disease.

He offers a line of supplements including daily deals to help revitalize patients with “even the most advanced forms of illness,” his website states.

Dr. Sinatra is known for his unique approach, which mixes conventional medicine with ‘complementary nutrition, mind-body and other lifestyle approaches’ that help to ‘heal the heart.’

One of Dr. Sinatra’s earliest triumphs was the championing of coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10) to help address a wide range of heart concerns, ‘several years before the conventional medical world would embrace this “wonder nutrient”‘ as Dr. Sinatra’s website says.

The crucial heart healthy nutrient had been used by European doctors and pharmacists for years and is just now becoming more popular among United States health professionals.

Dr. Sinatra shared his top nutrients for helping to reverse high blood pressure readings over the 130/90 mark on his YouTube channel.

His top recommendations are as follows.

Omega-3s, Nattokinase Among Blood Pressure Supplement Recommendations

Dr. Sinatra is shown in the video below giving his top recommendations for beginning a supplement routine to address high blood pressure concerns.

His recommendations are as follows:

1. Nattokinase-

Nattokinase has been shown to dissolve blood clots, while also lowering the risk of heart disease. This popular soy-based supplement originated in Japan. It helps to maintain blood vessel structure and improves blood flow..

It can reduce blood pressure and reduce strain on the heart.

Always opt for an organic, non-GMO nattokinase as over 90% of soy products produced in the U.S. contain GMO material and non-organic soy is processed with a toxic solvent called hexane.

Find organic nattokinase here

2. Electrolytes-

Electrolytes are minerals that dissolve in water and are dissolved in water to provide a liquid infusion of key minerals.

They have a natural positive or negative electrical charge when dissolved in water and help to maintain healthy nerve and muscle function.

Dr. Stephen Sinatra strongly recommends electrolytes, especially ones containing potassium, for blood pressure regulation and health. He created an electrolyte drink for cardiovascular health that can be found here.

I personally am a fan of the ‘Essential Electrolytes’ from Paleo Valley, which includes calcium from seaweed (not rock minerals), potassium from coconut water, and tastes way better than Gatorade or similar unhealthy, GMO laced electrolyte drinks (find it here).

3. Magnesium-

Magnesium is a crucial mineral for preventing heart attacks and strokes. It provides us with a calming feeling when consumed in large enough doses and is found in foods ranging from grass-fed meat to dark chocolate and dark leafy greens.

Magnesium deficits are present in between 10-30% of any given population according to a 2018 study published in the journal Heart.

4. Grapeseed Extract-
Grape seed oil benefits include cooking oil prowess and support for heart health.

A 2011 study in the Journal of the American Dietetic Association found that grapeseed oil can significantly lower systolic blood pressure and heart rate.

Grapeseed oil is an effective and heart healthy cooking oil at high temperatures and is sold online and in health food stores.

5. CoQ10-

An analysis of 12 clinical studies found that CoQ10 is a wonder-nutrient for heart health and reducing unhealthy blood pressure levels.

Mount Sinai Hospital in New York’s website states that it may take between 4 to 12 weeks to see the desired changes. It has been given to high blood pressure and heart disease patients overseas for years and is now becoming popular in the United States.

Dr. Sinatra recommends doses ‘maybe even up to 200-300 milligrams;’ always consult a health professional if you are not sure how much to take for your current health conditions.

6. Omega 3s-

Dr. Sinatra recommends Omega-3 fatty acids for blood pressure lowering.

Supplements and supplemental food choices for Omega-3s include dark green algae products, wild caught fish oil, wild caught fish roe, wild caught sardines, flaxseeds and flaxseed oils, and chia seeds.

Find more information from Dr. Sinatra in the videos below. Dr. Sinatra does recommend ‘low dose pharmaceuticals’ to lower blood pressure if the above supplements are not working. He also extolls the virtues of the long-overlooked nutrient CoQ10 for high blood pressure patients in the second video.

As always, you should consult with a licensed health professional before making any major changes to your diet, supplement routine or other health related routines:
