Golden rice in the hands of a researcher.
The ongoing, grand American genetically modified food experiment began appearing commercially in the mid-1990s with genetically modified tomatoes officially debuting as the first GMO for sale and use in everyday food items.
Most major players in the food industry from fast food companies to food service outfits decided to rebel against the novel GMO tomato, causing it to later be scrapped.
The genetically modified food industry continued on its warpath against natural foods and transparency later introducing the GMO, lab spliced crops that would eventually form the backbone of the United States food supply.
Among them are GMO corn, GMO soybeans, GMO beet sugar and GMO canola (rapeseed), all of which have recently or still do make up 90 percent or more of their entire respective crops.
The success of these four foundational crops has led Monsanto, Bayer, Syngenta, BASF and other genetically modified seed, food and pesticide corporations to continue to prop up new GMO experiments throughout the years.
One of them is GMO “golden” rice, which is now being pushed by the world’s most popular search engine through its Artificial Intelligence arm.
Google’s AI Begins Promoting GMO Rice
Genetically modified rice, aka “golden rice,” has been promoted as the next big thing among GMO companies in recent years.
The rice has been genetically modified to include higher amounts of Vitamin A in hopes of assisting with malnutrition, particularly in third world countries, although those in the non-GMO, natural foods movement has strongly disputed those claims.
Does Google have an agenda for promoting the controversial lab created ‘Frankenrice?’ A recent search result shows that the new Google AI Overview tool is beginning to promote GMO rice to a widespread audience, as shown in the picture below.

Google search results promoting genetically modified rice through AI technology.
GMO Based on “False Assumptions”
Genetically modified rice has been fiercely defended by industry advocates despite evidence stating that it doesn’t work as intended.
The crop has been deemed a failure by those in the know yet companies continue to promote it as an alleged solution to malnutrition, ignoring warnings of potential health risks, environmental risks and ineffectiveness.
“Accusations that anyone is blocking genetically engineered ‘golden’ rice are false,” Claire Robinson wrote in The Ecologist.
“‘Golden’ rice has failed as a solution and isn’t currently available for sale,” she said in 2016, “even after more than 20 years of research.
“As admitted by the International Rice Research Institute, it has not been proven to actually address Vitamin A deficiency.
“So to be clear, we are talking about something that doesn’t even exist.”
The organization GRAIN has been fighting genetically modified golden rice for roughly a decade due to false promises and concerns about the controversial crops.
In 2024, the organization’s efforts resulted in a historic victory against GMO rice companies as the Philippine Supreme Court issued a cease-and-desist order on the commercialpropogation of genetically modified rice on April 19, 2024.
The order also included Bt eggplant, a crop that is part of a system of lab creations that produces pesticides directly within the crop.

Decades Later, Questions Surround GMO Rice
Genetically modified golden rice has been researched for over three decades now and still has not reached widespread cultivation or adoption.
So, why is Google AI Overview promoting it?
These are the types of questions that readers should be asking themselves as Robert F. Kennedy and the Make America Healthy Again movement continue to go over the true health effects, both intended and unintended, of our food and medicine systems.
As mentioned above, GMO golden rice is questionable at best.
Readers and searchers on Google should be forewarned that these products are not all they are cracked up to be and they should receive the same scrutiny, if not more scrutiny, and potential revision or bans the same way that artificial colors were just banned by Kennedy Jr.
