Three Easy Ways to Improve Your Eyesight Naturally in Less Than Two Weeks

Like most branches of mainstream medicine, the modern eyesight healing discipline relies on a simple blueprint of treating the symptoms instead of the root causes.

While these eyesight professionals are generally not prescribing drugs, they are actively prescribing glasses, contacts, and other items that serve as “crutches” for people with deteriorating or failing eyesight, rather than helping them to heal their problems for life.

Stepping up to fill this void has been a motley crew of natural eyesight practitioners across the country, ranging from authors to the creators of eye exercises to nutritionists, who have all stepped forward to help bring their pathway to healing into the consciousness of the natural health community.

Despite their efforts, natural eyesight healing is still a relative unknown, in large part because of the stigma and perception attached to it, namely that natural eyesight healing is simply too time consuming and virtually impossible to pull off while living a full everyday life, especially in the 21st century.

In truth, many of these concerns are valid, but that doesn’t change the fact that there are plenty of things just about anyone can do to help heal their eyesight at home naturally, as shared in a recent video by the educational channel Brightside.

The following are three ways to improve your eyesight at home naturally, which can put you on the path to better eyesight, or stave off macular degeneration over time:

1. Focus on Diet-

Human eyes and the series of nerves and tissues connecting them to the body are complicated, which explains why they need a wide range of nutrients to support optimal function.

Among the nutrients most needed are berries and similar fruits like grapes, goji berries, and blueberries, all of which aid in night vision and anti-inflammatory properties and antioxidants to protect the eyes. Another powerful supplement for eye health? Bilberries, which have previously been used by British Royal Air Force pilots during World War 2 to improve eyesight naturally prior to taking on important night missions against Nazi fighter pilots.

Aside from berries, orange foods like carrots, sweet potatoes and pumpkins contain beta carotene, zeaxanthin, and lutein to protect your eyes from being damaged by the sun. Dark leafy greens can also help in this department.

To prevent macular degeneration, try a natural vitamin C supplement from a quality source, or eat foods rich in Vitamins A, C and E.

Among the other healing foods known optimizing eye health are strawberries, eggs (preferably pasture raised or free range), mackerel, oranges, nuts, and similar health whole foods.

2. Lifestyle Changes-

The list of healthy lifestyle changes to improve eyesight is almost too long to consider, but a healthy eyesight routine includes the following: avoiding fluorescent light and using incandescent light bulbs instead, using a simple desk humidifer to keep your eyes moist, especially while working at a computer desk, and employing liberal use of the 20-20-20 rule.

To follow this rule, give your eyes a break every 20 minutes by staring at an object about 20 feet away for at least 20 seconds. This simple rule is an absolute must if you spend hours on the computer for your current job (more lifestyle tips can be found at the 3:05 mark in the video below).

3. Eye Exercises-

This is perhaps the most time consuming of all of the steps, but arguably the most effective.

Some of the recommended exercises include giving yourself a gentle eye massage by first washing your hands, closing your eyes, and using light circular movements around your closed eyelids, as well as utilizing the pencil exercise.

The pencil exercise involves drawing a letter on a pencil, moving it away from your eyes, and holding your vision on it. When the pencil doubles, close your eyes and look away for a few seconds before looking back at it and allowing your vision to correct itself.

Eventually, you should stop seeing double, and train your eyes to see at a relatively close distance fast.

This simple exercise is said to work excellent for cross-eyes and double vision.
