It appears as if we may have found one of the biggest sources of the ongoing epidemic in one of the world’s most unhealthy first-world countries.

It’s well known that the Standard American Diet doesn’t always make enough room for vegetables, which are packed full of fiber, antioxidants, vitamins and minerals, and are far less inflammatory than most other popular foods.
But simply eating more vegetables might not be good enough for anywhere close to ideal health if you eat the same vegetables Americans eat the most on a daily basis.
The top 5 fruits and vegetables consumed in the U.S. are as follows, according to the website PMA, which discusses food safety and the global supply chain:
Most of these produce items are quite healthy in their own right, but there’s one major problem with the list for starters: Apples (#2 fruit), Grapes (#3), Strawberries (#4 fruit), Potatoes (#1 vegetable), and Tomatoes (#2 vegetable) all made the 2018 Dirty Dozen list.
In other words, even those Americans who do follow the advice of their doctors and government healthy agencies are likely biting off far more than they can chew, in regards to pesticides and other toxic substances that may be harming their health.
Pesticide Soaked Fruits and Vegetables to Avoid (Plus Alternatives)
If you know someone who still makes these non-organic fruits and vegetables the foundation of their diet, it’s important to share this information with them as soon as possible.
Just think about the repercussions for a second by reading the information below on these foods:
Apples- Conventional apples in the U.S. are so toxic they’ve been banned throughout Europe. A whopping 80 percent of apples tested contained diphenylamine, the chemical that got that banned overseas. Plus, GMO apples that don’t turn brown are now on store shelves.
Grapes- If you drink conventional wine you are not only getting a mouthful of glyphosate, but also sulfites and other harmful chemicals. Consider switching to organic wine instead.
Strawberries- One sample contained 22 pesticide residues. Strawberries made from the GMO CRISPR technique are also said to be in development.
Potatoes- One of the most heavily sprayed crops out there with more pesticide residues by weight than any other crop. Plus potatoes have just been named as “high risk” for GMO contamination.
Tomatoes- Tomatoes aren’t GMO yet thankfully, but they are sprayed with ripening gas and contained as many as 15 pesticides in a single sample.
It goes without saying, but health-conscious Americans need to start taking a long look at the foods they’re eating and start actively seeking out healthier alternatives.
Chronic disease affects more than 40% of the population and this type of pesticide-soaked food is a big part of the reason why.
