Product Review: Individually Wrapped, Vegan Energy Bites From Eat Power Snacks!

Power Crunch Snacks review

The movement toward living a more plant-based lifestyle has taken on life of its own in recent years, and led to exciting new food products helping consumers to include more healthy superfoods and plant-based foods into their diets.

Recently, I had the opportunity to check out two different packages of Vegan Energy Bites from the company Eat Power Snacks!, a company created by founder Sharif Rasheed who was looking to create a healthy snack his young son could enjoy (learn more about the story of the company’s creation here).

Rasheed decided to sell the snacks at his juice shop after they were devoured by his son Malcolm, and the rest, as they say, is history.

Individually wrapped in snackable bites, I thoroughly enjoyed these snacks.

They definitely remind me of superfood bars found at juice shops and smoothie shops, which makes them a great grab-and-go option for whenever you’re looking to get a wide profile of micronutrients in your daily diet.

Pros:

-Vegan Energy Bites are packed full of high quality superfood nutrients. Ingredients include: Oats, date paste, brown rice syrup, sunflower oil, grape juice, cacao nibs, pumpkin seed protein, maple syrup, sea salt, raspberries, strawberries, almonds, chia seeds, flaxseeds, sea salt and cinnamon.

I would have loved to see certified organic ingredients, but I must say that the nutrient profile in these snacks is truly unique. The sheer variety of healthy superfoods in these snacks is impressive. These snacks offer 15% of the daily value of iron per serving as well as 8% potassium and 8 grams of protein.

-Small size allows you to grab a handful of them to enjoy them on the go. I ate three or four of them on the way to an Easter egg hunt, and shared them with my aunt.

I couldn’t stop eating these over the four days that I consumed them; they definitely have an addictive quality even though they are additive and artificial flavors free.

-The taste is very good. They definitely have a bit of an Earthy flavor to them, but the berries, dates, and almond really shine through here as the standout flavors among other ingredients. This isn’t a snack that tastes like a candy bar, but they do have just the right amount of sweetness if you’re a picky eater in regards to Earthy flavors.

-Gluten-free, soy-free and vegan

Cons:

-I would have liked to have seen a little bit of a bigger serving size. The current serving size is four bites, good for 210 calories in one serving. Perhaps I was just really hungry, but I could not stop snacking on these bites; a bigger granola bar size might have been a little more satisfying.

-No certified organic ingredients or non-GMO certification

Final Thoughts on Eat Power Snacks! Vegan Energy Bites

Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed these energy snacks.

They are easy to pop into your mouth on the go and they provide a lot of nutrients I wouldn’t otherwise get over the course of my day.

These bites retail for $24.99 for a 24-pack, and can be found by clicking on this link (the third flavor is salted peanut butter).
