Product Review: Key Sparkling Water, A Fruit-Infused, Carbonated Drink In Three Amazing Flavors

Blood orange sparkling water from Key sparkling water.

Sparkling water is made through the process of carbonation, during which beverage makers directly inject carbon dioxide under high pressure, or, in some cases, through fermentation.

The result is a fizzy drink that millions of people seem to crave often and consume in countless different varieties.

Sparkling water is not as popular as soda pop, but it is gaining in popularity. As of 2023, the best-selling sparkling water brand in the United States was Sparkling Ice, a drink sweetened with the artificial sweetener Sucralose that also includes potassium benzoate, a controversial preservative.

Recently, I had the chance to try out a new type of sparkling water for myself from the company Key Sparkling Water. It stood out from other sparkling water brands I’ve tried and became one of my favorite drinks in recent months.

Here are my honest impressions.

Key Sparkling Water Flavors

Key Sparkling Water comes in three distinct flavors: Blood Orange Cherry, Key Lime, and Pineapple Passion Fruit.

Each drink is richly-colored and contains fruit juice along with sparkling water. The flavors are somewhere between a soda drink and stevia-sweetened beverage in terms of their intensity, and each has just 15 calories per can.

The Blood Orange Cherry is my favorite of the three flavors, followed by Key Lime and Pineapple Passion Fruit. I brought a three-pack to an Easter party recently and the drinks got positive reviews from multiple people.

These drinks taste great and are energizing and invigorating on their own. They’re great for creating alcohol-free ‘mocktails’ and work great as an alcoholic drink mixer as well.

I mixed some of the Pineapple Passion Fruit with vodka and enjoyed it tremendously.

Key Sparkling Water Health Benefits

Key Sparkling Water box.

Key Sparkling Water is a no-frills drink with no added sugar and fruit from concentrate.

The fruit in each bottle adds antioxidants and other plant compounds that are incredibly healthy. These drinks are not certified organic but each of the fruits that are used have hard outer skin compared to other softer fruits like grapes, peaches and pears, making pesticides less of a concern.

This simplistic approach makes Key Sparkling Water a good choice for parties. It’s more about the look and the taste than the nutrition, although sparkling water does including a laundry list of health benefits.

Final Thoughts on Key Sparkling Water

This brand is a tricky one to rate because this is a natural health website and there isn’t as much pure nutrition in these products as some of the other sparkling beverages or electrolyte drinks I’ve had recently.

That being said, there is something special about this product that is hard to put my finger on. I consider myself a connoisseur of sparkling beverages and am incredibly sensitive to the little details of each variety and brand that I have tried over the years.

Key Sparkling Water tastes exceptional, the branding is on point, and it’s just a fun all-around drink that works well as a mixer or drank straight up, on its own.

The amount of fruit juice in each can is the exact right amount in my personal opinion and the crispness and fizziness of the carbon bubbles is perfection as well. One additional caveat is that they don’t list information about filtration on the bottles.

All things considered I thoroughly enjoyed these drinks and would purchase them often if they were sold in stores. For now, you can find them on Amazon.com by clicking here or on the picture below. You can also order them directly from the Key Sparkling Water website here, in variety packs or single flavor packs depending on your own personal preference.
