Product Review: Gourmet, Non-GMO Popcorn with Incredible Flavors to Try

Pop Zup review

The popcorn industry is dominated by microwavable popcorn products that often contain GMO ingredients, artificial flavors and colors, preservatives, and even bags that release unhealthy chemicals into your food.

Microwaves themselves have been linked to birth defects, cancer, cataracts, a weakened immune system and more.

It is for this reason that I typically prefer buying pre-made popcorn products in bags or popcorn kernels for cooking on the stove.

Recently I had the opportunity to try several different varieties of popcorn that tasted amazing and are made from healthier ingredients than what you’d typically find on store shelves.

These are my impressions.

Pop Zup Pre-Bagged Popcorn Review

For the purposes of this review I tried multiple flavors of popcorn from Pop Zup, a gourmet popcorn company that is gluten-free, GMO-free and made from natural ingredients.

The first one I tried was the Butter Me Up Popcorn that includes sweet cream and sea salt.

Each bag has 140 calories per serving and contains coconut oil, sweet cream, butter, sea salt and turmeric.

I am a big fan of this flavor, it tasted like popcorn that had been popped at a movie theater or an outdoor event straight out of the bag. The ingredients are great, although I wish they were certified organic.

Another flavor I tried was the Cheddar Head Popcorn.

This popcorn is topped with coconut oil, cheddar cheese, whey, sea salt, and a dash of turmeric. Much like the Butter Me Up Flavor I didn’t taste the turmeric too much as it is a light dusting not a full-fledged turmeric flavor.

I devoured this popcorn incredibly fast. It tasted amazing and gave me energy.

Another variety I tried was the Cheesie Herbie flavor.

This one was even better than the Cheddar Head flavor. If you like a little bit of spice on your popcorn I highly recommend this kind.

You can purchase this flavor and other flavors in the Family Size Bundle from Popzup by clicking on this link, which also includes a Maple Cinnamon Toast flavor that has gotten incredible reviews since it was released.

Individual bags of popcorn kernels and seasonings are also available for stove cooking and can be found on the company’s website here.

Thanks for reading! And special thanks to Popzup for letting me try their delicious and healthier popcorn for the purposes of this review.
