Product Review: Organic Apricot Seeds, Supplements and More From Apricot Power

Apricot Power apricot seeds for health.

My holistic health journey began in the pages of a book called ‘The Hundred Year Lie’ by Randall Fitzgerald and continued with my interest in “superfoods,” a category of little known foods with unique healing properties that are often overlooked in the mainstream.

One of the first superfoods I began to eat consistently was apricot seeds, a health food that is controversial in nature but renowned for its cancer fighting properties.

Apricot seeds are rich in B17, also known as laetrile or amygdalin, a substance found in raw nuts, bitter almonds, apricot and cherry seeds.

For me personally, apricot seeds started as and have continued as a healthy part of my diet.

Recently, I had the opportunity to try a variety of apricot seed products from a company called Apricot Power, and came away thoroughly impressed.

These are impressions.

P.S. Be aware that the FDA issued a warning about Apricot Seeds in May 2024…Read on for more information on potential benefits of these seeds plus a link to the FDA’s warning and a disclaimer…

Apricot Power Apricot Seeds Review

The first and most foundational product in the Apricot Power line is the apricot seeds product shown above.

Apricot seeds come from the pit of the apricot and are renowned for their cancer cell destroying abilities. They are widely consumed by the Hunza Tribe in Pakistan, which is packed with some of the world’s longest living people routinely living into their 100s and into their 120s and beyond.

The humble apricot seed is a health secret of the Hunza Tribe.

If you’ve never tried apricot seeds before you can’t go wrong starting out with the organic apricot seeds from Apricot Power (learn more or try them here). The apricot seeds from Apricot Power are the most delicious and flavorful of any brand I have ever tried.

Apricot seeds start out tasting like an almond and taste a bit more bitter with each bite. Eventually they produce a unique mix of bitter and light fruit flavors that gives them their signature mouthfeel.

If you don’t mind bitter tasting foods you will love these seeds. They are a healthy snack that provide B17, which has gained notoriety for improving energy levels and detoxifying the body.

Apricot Power Mushroom Coffee Review

Apricot Power coffee.

Of all the products I tried from Apricot Power, the Mushroom Coffee Mix with Apricot Seeds was my absolute favorite.

Apricot Power really hit a home run with this product. I’m not usually a big instant coffee drinker but when it came to this blend I simply couldn’t resist. The earthiness of the mushrooms mixes incredibly well with the fruity undertones of the apricot seeds and the slight bitterness of the coffee and the seeds.

This is one of the healthiest, and one of my favorite, instant coffee mixes of all-time, as good or better than Four Sigmatic and similar brands I’ve had in recent years.

Final Thoughts on Apricot Power Products, Plus a Warning

I have purchased apricot seeds from the health food store for over a decade running and I can say with total confidence that these are the best apricot seeds I’ve ever had.

The company offers both California and Turkey sourced apricot seeds, organic and delicious if you don’t mind eating bitter foods.

The coffee and the apricot powder supplement combined to give me quite a bit of health benefits when I had them both recently. Many people are afraid of apricot seeds because B17 is said to convert to cyanide in the body. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) does not recognize the seeds as fully safe, issuing a warning about the Apricot Power products in May 2024.

If you have any reservations be sure to consult your doctor before eating. I purposely don’t take many of the Apricot Seed and Apricot Power products in one sitting to be as careful as humanly possible. It is said that one seed can be too much for a young child or toddler and three seeds can be too much for an adult. I have been aware of these warnings for a long time and generally cap my consumption at 8 to 12 seeds in one sitting, usually much less.

I personally have never experienced any of the symptoms of cyanide poisoning linked to apricot seeds such as fever, dizziness and confusion, even though I’ve been eating them for years.

That being said, I firmly believe that there is a reason why they are eaten by the world’s longest living people.

Again, the key here is to consult a doctor and to be sure to err on the safe side if you have any concerns. AltHealthWorks is not a medical organization so any and all Apricot Seeds you consume are at your own risk.

Apricot Power is based in Wimberly, Texas and more information can be found on their website here.

If you’d like more information on Apricot Seeds benefits and FDA warnings and whether to consume them or not, feel free to check out their website!

Special thanks to Apricot Power for providing these product samples for the review! And thank you to everyone who read this article. I personally love Apricot Seeds and work them into my supplementation routine every 6 to 12 months or so and I firmly believe they have helped me to stay as healthy as possible. Until next time…
