In 2019 a story broke about two men in Australia who decided to help the local homeless population in Brisbane, Australia by outfitting their vehicle in a unique way.
Free Laundry Services for the Homeless
Lucas Prachett and Nic Marchesi decided to retrofit their van for the purposes of bringing much-needed cleaning services to the homeless population nearby.
They bought a generator to power up the four washer/drier machines that were donated by sponsors. A gift of washing powder was also donated.
The machines were designed so they can be plugged in at food and shelter centers where the homeless people are located.
The business was named ‘Orange Sky Laundry’ and originally began with hopes of having multiple vans at multiple locations around the country to serve the homeless.

How to Help Others By Giving to Those in Need
The spirit of giving is often lost during the year as families, couples and individuals wait until the holidays to give to others.
If you’d like to find a charity near you to give to, check out the website Charity Navigator.
This website (find it here) will help you to discover the best and most impactful charities near you.
I personally give to the Heat and Warmth Fund located in Detroit, which helps families to keep the heat on during the freezing cold winter months in Michigan where I live.
It’s a charity I’ve been following for many years that does amazing work which is why I have been proud to support them.
