As someone who’s been seriously interested in natural health for over a decade, one of the biggest changes I made in my daily nutrition routine was to switch up my salad dressing.
Most conventional salad dressings are the most unhealthy part of any salad.
These dressings are made with cheap, unhealthy filler ingredients like GMO canola oil, GMO soy oil and more.
Even so-called “natural” dressings are likely packed full of GMO ingredients and preservatives.
When I began making my own salad dressings, the game completely changed for me.
The biggest switch I made right off the bat was to begin using organic olive oil as the base of my salad dressings.
Organic, extra virgin olive oil is one of the healthiest oils you can eat at low temperatures, a source of both Omega 3 and Omega 6 fatty acids, which are key for brain health and energy.
To get started, find an organic extra virgin olive oil or natural olive oil, and make sure it doesn’t contain any preservatives or other unhealthy additives

The Magic Black Seed Olive Oil Recipe
This recipe was cultivated by a blogger named Joy, a certified nutritionist from the website Joyous Health.
Joy’s recipe is incredibly similar to recipes I’ve been making using olive oil for years, and even includes Black Seed Oil —also known as ‘The Remedy for Everything But Death.’
Joy’s recipe adds mustard to the mix to make it more like a honey mustard.
In my personal opinion, this step can also be optional, because I like my salad dressings a little more savory with the flavors of the oils taking center stage instead of the mustard.
Regardless of how you choose to make it, here is the recipe:
1 tsp Black Seed Oil or Powder (Find the Best Black Seed Oil — Click Here)
1 tsp Honey
1 Tbsp Coarse Dijon Mustard (Organic ideally)
1 Lemon, Juiced (I usually squeeze four or five drops for a lighter taste)
1 Clove Garlic, finely chopped
1/2 Cup EVOO (Get a Free Bottle, Organic From Greece — Click Here)
1/4 Cup Filtered Water (I Use This Filter That Takes Out Fluoride)
1 Pinch of Sea Salt, Culinary Salt
Directions
Simply place all ingredients in a small bowl and mix with a wire whisk.
Add extra water, honey, mustard, olive oil or similar ingredients to get your desired thickness, mix and serve with salad greens of your choice.
The taste will be similar to Honey Mustard but with a more robust flavor and added health benefits.
